Costa, is the coastal plain located west of the Andes
Mountain Ranges about 2000 feet above sea level. It has a hot
and humid climate and contains rich agricultural land.
Sierra, also called the Highlands, lies between the
western and central ranges of the Andes mountains. The climate
is subtropical in the valleys and frigid in the permanently
snow-covered mountains. |

Amazon, is the upper Amazon River basin, located East of
the Andes. This jungle area has a tropical climate.
