Galapagos Hawk: (Buteo galapagoensis) The only resident hawk in Galapagos is a 56 cm long brown buzzard.

The female is appreciably larger than the male. Each female will mate with up to four males, all of whom help whit incubation and rearing the young.

Galapagos Coastal Birds, Hawk

The endemic Galapagos Hawk is very commonly seen in most major islands.

Best viewed: South Plaza, Española and Fernandina.

Galapagos Flycatcher: (Myriarchus magnirostris) It is endemic and quite common bird in all the major islands.

It will often approach humans very closely. Best viewed: Widespread in all main islands, except Genovesa.
