Land Iguana: (Conoluphus spp)
There are only two endemic species: Conoluphus subcristatus,
the most widespread and Colophus pallidus, found only
in Santa Fe Island. Adult
land iguanas are vegetarian and eat mostly
Opuntia cactus pads
and fruits, flowers. |

Young
iguanas begin life eating various
insects before converting to vegetarianism. |

Large male Land Iguanas may reach 13 kg in
weight and more then 1 m in lensgth. |

Snakes: (Phylodrias sp and
Alsophis sp),
Galapagos has three species of endemic
snake. They feed mostly on lava lizards, young
marine iguanas and
geckos.
They are only about 1 m long and harmless
to humans. |

Most often they are seen in the coastal
zones, particularly in Española
Island and Fernandina
